Cavitation and cavitation noise of stainless steel gear pump

The cavitation and erosion phenomena in the hydraulic system of stainless steel gear pumps can also generate noise. Generally, 2% to 5% air is mixed into hydraulic oil, with a portion dissolved in the oil and the remaining portion evenly mixed in the oil, forming small white spots. If the oil pressure of the gear oil pump drops to a certain constant value, the trace gases mixed in the oil will expand and aggregate with each other due to the decrease in pressure, forming bubbles. When the air drops below its separation pressure, the dissolved air will detach from the oil and form many bubbles. Bubbles will flow with the oil to areas with higher pressure, and at this point, the bubbles will be compressed and their volume will decrease. When the pressure reaches a specific value, the bubble will burst and release its internal energy.
